A long awaited return to Pendine Sands with Straightliners for some land speed racing was just what Jay needed. With the pit crew of Rik and his son Ewan, and an ex TT superstock BMW from VRS Racing, it was looking good . . .
Unfortunately the conditions on the beach on Saturday meant the distance was reduced from a mile to half a mile.
The bike had a small issue that meant with no spares only 1 run was possible.
To the rescue came the long suffering DDR GSXR 600, which did itself proud again on the sand for the 3rd time.
The distances were upped on Sunday to 1km, but a bit of rain halted the day's racing after 3 runs due to safety issues ( aquaplaning at 130mph+ is not the best )
Overall, Jay achieved 5 new uk land speed records. Everyone had a good time, new friends made, and the new Museum of Speed is very impressive. Can't wait until the next one . . .
